What to Expect at Your First Body Contouring Session

Booking a first body contouring session when you have never had one is mostly a question of not knowing what happens in the room. Here is the whole appointment, start to finish.

Before your first body contouring session

Complete the intake and consent form online. It covers your medical history, any surgery, medications and what you want to achieve. It is encrypted, only your practitioner sees it, and it means your first appointment starts with treatment rather than paperwork.

On the day:

  • Drink water. Well-hydrated tissue responds better, and cavitation in particular depends on it.
  • Eat something light an hour or two before — not a heavy meal, not an empty stomach.
  • Skip lotions and oils on the treatment area.
  • Wear something loose that is easy to change out of, and bring your faja if you have one.

The consultation

The first ten to fifteen minutes are talking and measuring. We go through your form, look at the areas you want treated, take measurements so there is a baseline to compare against, and agree what is realistic in how many sessions.

If something in your history rules a treatment out — a recent surgery, a condition, a medication — you will be told then, and offered what is safe instead.

What each treatment feels like

  • Wood therapy — firm, rhythmic work with shaped wooden tools. Deep pressure, occasionally intense over stubborn areas, never sharp. Some redness afterwards is normal.
  • Lipo cavitation — a warm handpiece moved slowly over the area. Painless, with a high-pitched tone you hear rather than feel.
  • Radiofrequency — steady warmth, like a hot stone. Comfortable, and most people find it relaxing.
  • Lymphatic drainage — very light and slow. It should never hurt.

Say something if anything is uncomfortable. Pressure is adjusted to you, not to a protocol.

How long it takes

A first appointment usually runs 60 to 90 minutes including the consultation. Follow-ups are shorter, since the talking is done.

Afterwards

Expect some warmth and redness for a few hours, and possibly a little tenderness the next day — similar to after a workout. Then:

  • Keep drinking water for the rest of the day. Cavitation in particular relies on your system clearing what has been released.
  • Put your compression garment straight back on if you wear one.
  • Avoid alcohol and heavy meals that evening.
  • Move — a walk helps more than lying down.

When you see a change

Some people see a difference in measurements after one session, mostly fluid. Real, visible change is a course, not an appointment: typically six to twelve sessions, one or two a week.

Which is why we measure at the start. Photographs lie about lighting; a tape measure does not.

Keeping to the course

A first body contouring session is a start, not a result — the clients who see change are the ones who finish the course. Map it once in the Beauty Planner — pick your treatment, set the frequency, and every session is scheduled with a reminder before it.

Browse body contouring treatments, or message us and we will tell you which one suits what you are trying to achieve.
